UFTAA Congress to be held in Nepal

Nepal has won the bid to host the annual congress of United Federation on Travel Agencies\' Association (UFTAA) in Kathmandu on the second week of November, 2009.

According to Pabitra Kumar Karki, 2nd vice-president of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Nepal won the bid for host country for the 2009 Congress after it got more votes than other contender Bulgaria.

More than 100 international delegates are expected to participate in the UFTAA Congress in Kathmandu.

\"This will give much needed international publicity and promotion to Nepal as industry leaders from around the world are expected to participate in the Congress,\" Karki added.

Karki also said that fam-trips and special tours would be organised to the international delegates at the sidelines of the Congress. According to him, the delegates would also be taken to Pokhara.

The Congress will extend over the period of five days and delegates from 79 countries are expected to participate in the Congress that is being hosted by Nepal for the first time.
