Himalayan White Water rafting from Nov 28
Nepal Association of Rafting Agents is organizing 8th Mountain Dew Himalayan Whitewater Challenge in Trishuli River from November 28-30, 2008.
The event is an annual event in NARA’s calendar and is being organised to promote white water rafting among both domestic and international visitors. Previous editions of the event were organsied on the Bhotekoshi River.
The rafting will be organised from Charaundi in Dhading district to Kurintar in Chitwan.
Addressing a press meet, event coordinator Mahindra Singh Thapa said that they decided to organize the even in Trishuli River this year to because of better accommodation facilities available there.
“Some 700 participants, including 250 foreigners, are expected to participate in the three-day event. We have also invited foreign judges for the event,” he added.
There will be separate events of rafting and kayaking. Likewise, there will be separate category for men and women, junior and senior, and national and international.
NARA president Gopal Kharel said that the event would help promoted adventure tourism in the country and promote Nepal’s river rafting throughout the world.
