Cultural Heritage Educational Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

• Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
• Welcome and Transfer to hotel in the Kathmandu Valley.
• Evening: Introduction to Nepalese Culture. Brief discussion on Nepal's history, culture, and traditions.

Day 2: Kathmandu Cultural and Heritage Exploration

• Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple): A UNESCO World Heritage site offering panoramic views of Kathmandu and an opportunity to learn about Tibetan Buddhism.
• Kathmandu Durbar Square: Visit the ancient royal palace complex, temples, and monuments. Learn about the Malla kings and their influence on the cultural architecture.
• Pashupatinath Temple: Nepal's holiest Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Observe cremation rituals along the Bagmati River and gain insight into Hindu funeral traditions.
• Boudhanath Stupa: A large stupa surrounded by monasteries and Tibetan refugees. Experience Tibetan Buddhist culture and prayer rituals.

Day 3: Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares

• Patan Durbar Square: Known for its Buddhist temples and statues, Patan is home to an important collection of art and architecture from the Newar civilization.
• Patan Museum: Located inside the old palace complex, this museum showcases Nepalese art, including ancient sculptures, paintings, and religious artifacts.
• Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Explore medieval palaces, temples, and monuments that have preserved the Malla-era architecture. Bhaktapur is famous for its traditional handicrafts like pottery and wood carving.
• Free time to explore the local markets, pottery-making process and traditional craft workshops in Bhaktapur.

Day 4: Kathmandu - Lumbini, Birthplace of Lord Buddha

• Drive to Lumbini or fly to Bhairahawa Airport and drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
• Visit the Lumbini Garden, including the Maya Devi Temple, the ancient ruins, and the sacred pond where Queen Maya Devi bathed before giving birth.
• Visit the Lumbini Museum to understand the historical and religious importance of the site.
• Explore the Monastic Zone, where different countries have built monasteries reflecting their architectural styles.
• Learn about the Buddhist concept of peace and meditation during your time here.

 Day 5: Lumbini - Pokhara and the Nepalese Natural Heritage

• Early morning flight or drive to Pokhara, a scenic town by Phewa Lake.
• Visit Phewa Lake, boat ride to Barahi Temple which is located middle of the biggest lake.
• Gupteshwor Cave: A sacred cave housing the Shivalinga, and an interesting natural and cultural site.
• Bindhyabasini Temple: One of the oldest temples dedicated to Goddess Durga.
• Devi’s Fall: A beautiful waterfall that holds a spiritual and natural significance.
• International Mountain Museum: collection of artifacts, original gear, stories, and photographs of the mountains etc.

Day 6: Return to Kathmandu

• Early morning drive to Sarangkot, Sunrise view over the Himalayas (Weather permitted).
• Fly or drive back to Kathmandu.
• Free time for last-minute shopping or cultural exploration, such as visiting Thamel for local handicrafts or attending a traditional tea ceremony.
• Evening: Enjoy a cultural program featuring traditional songs and dances from the ethnic groups of the region.

Day 7: Departure

• Departure: Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
